The Annual Function titled ‘Bharat: Kal, Aaj Aur Kal’ was presented with great enthusiasm, by the students of Classes III to X. Through a series of cultural performances, the programme beautifully showcased India’s historic past, dynamic present, and promising future.
Dr. D. S. Khatri (M. Tech, Ph.D., Post Doctorate – Rome University, Italy) presided over the function as the Chief Guest. His lady wife, Mrs. Neena Khatri, was the Guest of Honour. Respected Chairman Sir, MD Ma’am and other esteemed members of the Management were also among the notable dignitaries who graced the occasion.
After the introduction of the Chief Guest by Principal Ma’am, the function commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. This was followed by the Vishnu Vandana to invoke the blessings of the Almighty and to set a serene and auspicious tone for the evening.The journey of India was showcased by ‘Samay’ as the narrator, depicting Bharat of the past – a land of ancient wisdom where a Guru, like Chanakya, turned his vision of “Akhand Bharat” into reality. This was followed by a powerful act on Maharaja Ranjeet Singh’s political wisdom and the Jallianwala Bagh act, showcasing India’s freedom struggle and the sacrifices of the unsung heroes which shaped the destiny of our nation.The role of Indian Cinema was presented through colourful dances followed by acts reflecting the India of today. A classical dance based on 'Megh Malhar', performed by the students, was followed by a lively robotic dance. In the end, all students sang a song, “We Need to Rise Up”, with full enthusiasm.
In his address to the gathering, the Chief Guest was full of praise for the staff and students, for presenting such a wonderful function which brought out the essence of the theme so beautifully. He advised everyone to be responsible citizens and also highlighted that water should be used judiciously. Esteemed Chairman Sir presented a token of gratitude to the Chief Guest, while respected MD Ma’am presented a token to the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Neena Khatri.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Principal Ma’am. The event concluded with the National Anthem, which was sung with full enthusiasm.
It was indeed an amazing programme.
