Independence Day Celebration & Prize Distribution Ceremony15/08/26

Gyan Devi Senior Secondary School, Sector 10, Gurugram, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15 August 2026. The occasion was graced by Ms. Kamal Yadav as the Chief Guest, along with the esteemed presence of the School Chairman, Capt. J.S. Yadav. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem.

The cultural programme began with the welcome address by the School Principal, Ms. Sheena Yadav, who extended warm greetings to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, parents and students, while highlighting the significance of Independence Day and the values of freedom, unity and patriotism. It was followed by a captivating orchestra performance that set a melodious tone for the celebrations. A powerful skit portraying the courage and resilience of fearless women, including Begum Hazrat Mahal, Matangini Hazra and Rani Gaidinliu, paid tribute to their remarkable contributions to India’s freedom struggle. The presentation was followed by a vibrant dance performance that further infused the celebration with patriotic spirit and energy.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony for the academic session 2025–26 honoured meritorious students from Classes VI to XI in categories such as Academic Excellence, Art, Dance, Music, and Sports. The Chief Guest, along with the Principal, presented trophies to the achievers, inspiring them to continue striving for excellence and reaching greater heights.

In her address, Ms. Kamal Yadav appreciated the school’s efforts in nurturing young minds, celebrating India’s rich heritage and instilling the values of courage, discipline and patriotism among students. The Chief Guest was felicitated with a token of gratitude and appreciation for gracing the occasion. The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the School Vice Principal, Ms. Arvinder Kaur followed by the school song, bringing the memorable patriotic celebration to a graceful close.

The Primary Wing also celebrated Independence Day with a morning prayer, patriotic song and an inspiring speech. Students enthusiastically participated in art and craft activities, creating badges, headbands, flags and drawings, and happily took their creations home, carrying cherished memories of the celebration.
